Jobs in Stratford

Stratford was reshaped by the regeneration that followed the 2012 Olympics, and the local jobs map shifted east with it. The biggest concentration of work now sits in and around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Stratford City (E20), covering office, retail, hospitality, higher-education and culture-sector roles. Live vacancies lean heavily towards retail and customer service, security and facilities, with a smaller tail of professional and public-body roles in the offices off Westfield Avenue.

The largest single pull is The International Quarter London (Stratford Cross), where Transport for London moved around 3,000 staff into its main office at 5 Endeavour Square, alongside Cancer Research UK, the British Council, the Financial Conduct Authority and Unicef UK. Next door, Westfield Stratford City is one of the area's biggest employers for retail, hospitality and security work, with steady turnover across its 250-plus shops and restaurants. On the park itself, UCL East (the Marshgate and One Pool Street buildings) and UAL's London College of Fashion brought academic, technical and student-facing jobs, with Sadler's Wells East and the V&A East Storehouse adding front-of-house and visitor-services roles after both opened in 2025. The Here East campus on the park's eastern edge houses Loughborough University London, Staffordshire University London and Ford's mobility operation.

Much of the lower-skilled hiring here runs through agencies. Retail, warehouse, security, hospitality and event staffing for Westfield, the park venues and the London Stadium is heavily agency-fed, so registering with several is sensible. Transport is the area's strongest card: Stratford station reaches Liverpool Street on the Elizabeth line in around ten minutes, and also has the Jubilee, Central, DLR, Overground and c2c, making it one of the best-connected job hubs in east London.
