Ealing is a west London borough of around 370,000 people, and its job market runs on two main bases: the industrial area of Park Royal in the north-east and a public-sector and creative cluster around the town centre. Live vacancies lean towards food manufacturing, logistics, healthcare and production work, alongside retail and care roles common across large London boroughs.

Park Royal, which straddles the Ealing and Brent boundary, is the largest single source of work. It is one of London's biggest industrial areas, with roughly 1,700 businesses and more than 43,000 jobs, and food manufacturing alone accounts for around 4,400 of them. Charlie Bigham's still develops and makes ready meals at its Park Royal kitchen. At Greenford Park on Ockham Drive (UB6), the SEGRO estate houses occupiers including DHL, Kuehne + Nagel, Kerry Foods and Brompton Bicycle, which builds its folding bikes in Greenford. The other large employer is London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs Ealing Hospital in Southall and Central Middlesex in Park Royal and employs around 9,000 staff across the area. Ealing Studios in W5, the oldest continuously working film studio in the world, sits at the centre of TV and film production work in the borough.

Much of the warehouse, food-production and driving work is filled through agencies based around Park Royal and Southall, so registering with several is the usual route into shift work. Transport is good: Ealing Broadway is on the Elizabeth line, reaching Paddington in about 12 minutes, plus the Central and District lines, while the A40 Western Avenue and M4 Junction 2 serve the Greenford and Perivale estates.
