Role Title: Junior Business Development Manager
Location: Central London (Office-based Mon-Thu with UK client travel / WFH Friday)
Compensation: Base Salary + Commission (OTE £35,000 - £40,000) + Fully Covered Travel Expenses

Security Clearance: Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC) (Sole UK Citizenship required)

Position Summary
This is an entry-to-junior level opportunity designed to fast-track your career in technical business development. Working directly alongside our Business Development Directors, you will learn the end-to-end sales and account management process within high-barrier engineering sectors.
You will be given hands-on responsibility from day one-initiating client contacts, building relationships with senior technical stakeholders, and preparing commercial proposals-with the clear trajectory to progress into a full Business Development Consultant.

This successful client specialises in providing high-integrity safety engineering, airworthiness, and environmental engineering consultancy services across regulated sectors, including Defence, Aerospace, and Nuclear.

As they continue to grow they are seeking an ambitious, proactive and dynamic Junior Business Manager, your positive attitude, tenacity and professionalism will be required in this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Outreach & Networking: Proactively identify and initiate contact with senior engineering, safety, and project stakeholders across target accounts.
• BD Mentorship & Learning: Shadow BD Directors on client visits, pitch presentations, and commercial negotiations to master technical solution selling.
• Proposal & Bid Support: Assist in drafting, shaping, and submitting tailored technical proposals, quotes, and tender responses.
• Account Management: Support existing client relationships, ensuring service delivery aligns with expectations and identifying upselling opportunities.
• Market Research: Track procurement pipelines, tender notices, and competitor activity across the UK Defence and Nuclear supply chains.

Candidate Profile & Requirements
Essential Experience & Skills

• Professional Background: 1 to 5 years of commercial or technical experience (e.g., Sales, Recruitment, Account Management, or Engineering) within a technical or regulated domain.We are looking for corporate experience over retail sales please.
• Location & Mobility: Based in or around Central London, with the flexibility to travel to client sites across the UK Monday to Thursday as required.
• Vetting Eligibility: Must be a UK National eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
