Site Manager / Site Assistant (Temp to Perm)Primary School | Tower Hamlets, East London

Are you an experienced Site Manager or Site Assistant looking for your next opportunity in education? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming Primary School in Tower Hamlets seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on professional to join their facilities team on a temporary to permanent basis.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous school premises experience who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school site and ensuring site security.
• Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks.
• Managing contractors and overseeing works on site.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
• Monitoring and maintaining building systems and facilities.
• Supporting with cleaning, waste management, and site presentation.
• Setting up rooms and facilities for school events and activities.
• Maintaining records relating to premises, maintenance, and compliance.

Essential Requirements

• Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential).
• Previous experience working within a school environment.
• Strong understanding of COSHH regulations, Health & Safety, and site compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures within educational settings.
• Experience carrying out general building maintenance and premises management duties.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

• Experience as a School Site Manager, Caretaker, Premises Officer, or Facilities Assistant.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance checks including fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos awareness, and building maintenance.
• Relevant facilities or health and safety qualifications.
