Senior Planner - London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planner to join a major rail and infrastructure programme in London. This role will be responsible for leading programme planning activities, maintaining integrated schedules, and providing strategic planning support across a complex, high-profile transportation environment.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, programme teams and external delivery partners, you will ensure programme alignment, monitor progress against key milestones, identify schedule risks and dependencies, and provide insightful reporting to support strategic decision-making. You will play a key role in coordinating plans across multiple workstreams, ensuring integration with wider rail industry programmes and major infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and maintenance of integrated programme schedules using Primavera P6.
• Coordinate and manage programme plans across multiple rail and infrastructure workstreams
• Monitor programme progress, critical paths, milestones and key deliverables
• Identify, analyse and report on schedule risks, opportunities and programme dependencies
• Support strategic planning activities associated with major rail enhancement and operational programmes
• Ensure alignment between internal programme plans and external industry programmes
• Produce programme reports, dashboards and planning updates for senior leadership teams
• Work closely with project managers, PMO teams and operational stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy and programme coherence
• Support transition, commissioning, operational readiness and mobilisation planning activities
• Facilitate planning reviews and challenge sessions to ensure realistic and achievable delivery schedules
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning standards, governance and programme controls processes
• Manage interfaces across complex rail programmes, ensuring dependencies and changes are effectively controlled.

About You

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience using Primavera P6, a strong background in programme planning and controls, and experience supporting major rail, transportation, infrastructure or engineering projects. Experience working within complex programme environments involving multiple stakeholders, interfaces and evolving project requirements would be highly advantageous.

• Rail, transportation, infrastructure or major projects background
• Experience managing complex programmes with multiple interfaces and dependencies
• Ability to identify, manage and report programme risks and schedule impacts
• Comfortable working with senior leadership teams and external stakeholders
• Experience supporting rail frameworks, major infrastructure programmes, Network Rail, HS2 or similar environments is advantageous
