London - 5 days a week in office

6 Months Contract

£600 Outside IR35

A large firm is seeking a talented Oracle Financials Functional SME to serve as the lead across our finance application landscape. In this role, you will bridge the gap between financial operations and technology-driving system architecture, full-lifecycle module configurations, operational support, and ongoing optimisations to maintain strict compliance and peak business efficiency

As an Oracle Financials Functional SME you will carry out the following responsibilities:-

• Drive System Upgrades & Implementations: Lead hands-on projects to launch, update, and improve key Oracle finance and procurement tools across both EBS and Fusion Cloud setups.
• Turn Business Needs into Action Plans: Work directly with finance leaders to understand how they work, spot areas for improvement, and create clear step-by-step system blueprints and testing plans.
• Configure & Fine-Tune Systems: Set up approval flows, user rules, system hierarchies, and financial reports so the software fits the team's exact daily needs.
• Bridge the Gap with Tech Teams: Partner with developers to build smooth data transfers, custom forms, system connections, and custom reports.
• Solve Advanced Support Issues: Step in to investigate tricky system bugs, fix technical glitches, and keep daily operations running smoothly.
• Keep Accounting Compliant & Clean: Help the business wrap up smooth month-end and year-end closes while making sure everything adheres to standard GAAP and IFRS accounting rules.
• Get Users Ready & Confident: Run testing sessions, write clear user guides, and host hands-on workshops so finance teams feel fully comfortable using the systems

Essential skills

• Experience: 6+ years as an Oracle Financials Functional SME (EBS R12 or Fusion Cloud).
• Core Modules: Deep knowledge of GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management, and P2P processes.
• Track Record: Delivered 2-3 full lifecycle implementations end-to-end.
• Technical Edge: Strong functional design skills with hands-on SQL/PL-SQL for troubleshooting and data reconciliation.
