Job Description:

As a Management Accountant (VAT) in the public sector, you'll play a key role in overseeing VAT compliance and reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations. This temporary role will support the finance function in maintaining smooth financial operations.

Description

• Prepare and review VAT returns to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Analyse financial data to identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
• Provide guidance on VAT-related matters to internal stakeholders.
• Monitor changes in VAT legislation and update processes accordingly.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and assist with budget monitoring.
• Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors as required.

Profile

A successful Management Accountant (VAT) should have:

• Strong knowledge of VAT regulations and compliance requirements
• Experience in preparing and reviewing VAT returns within a government organisation.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply changes in VAT legislation.
• Hold a full accounting qualification (CIPFA, CIMA, ACA, or ACCA).

Job Offer

• Daily rate of £400 to £450, dependent on the level of experience.
• Interim 6 months contract
• Hybrid working ( 2 days on site).
