Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Secondary SEN School
Southwark | September Start | Long-Term Opportunity | £110-£120 per day PAYE

SANZA Teaching Agency is proud to be working with a specialist secondary SEN school in Southwark to recruit an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a confident HLTA with a specialism in English, Maths or Science who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and mental health challenges.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

Pay

• £110-£120 per day (PAYE)
• Pay increases after 12 weeks in line with Agency Workers Regulations (AWR)

About the Role

You will work with students aged 11-16 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role will involve supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum, delivering interventions, leading small group sessions and occasionally covering lessons within your specialist subject.

You will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes in a supportive and nurturing environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• HLTA status or substantial experience working at HLTA level.
• A specialism in English, Maths or Science.
• Previous experience working within an SEN or SEMH setting.
• A strong understanding of supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• A patient, resilient and compassionate approach.
• A genuine commitment to helping students reach their full potential.
