Job: Fundraising Manager (Education)

Organisation: Baker Dearing Educational Trust

Location:Homeworking with some travel to meetings across England. All reasonable expenses for travel will be reimbursed.

Salary: £225 per day on a consultancy agreement or actual pro rata salary £23,500 (full-time equivalent £45,000) on a fixed term employment contract.

Contract type: Part-time 3 days a week, term time only plus 3 weeks. We are open to engaging the successful candidate on either a consultancy agreement operating outside IR35 or a fixed-term employment contract.

Contract length: Fixed until 31st August 2027. Opportunity to extend should follow on support prove successful.

Start date: Flexible, ideally from the start of October 2026

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the development and delivery of the charity's fundraising activity, securing the philanthropic support needed to strengthen their work, expand their programmes and create more opportunities for young people.

Baker Dearing is the charity that established and continues to support the national network of 44 employer-led technical schools, known as University Technical Colleges (UTCs). UTCs are delivering on their original mission of providing young people with an employer-guided, blended academic and technical education that equips them with the skills, experiences and opportunities needed to succeed in future careers.

Building on this strong track record, Baker Dearing has launched an ambitious growth strategy to extend its impact, while continuing to provide high-quality support to UTCs across England.

The job responsibilities include:

Working closely with the Baker Dearing senior team and trustees, the Fundraising Manager will build strong relationships with trusts, foundations, corporate partners and donors, and help demonstrate the transformative impact of investment in employer-led technical education.

The role combines strategic planning with hands-on fundraising, managing the full donor lifecycle from prospect identification and research through to proposal development, relationship management, stewardship, reporting and impact communication.

You will use evidence, data and impact stories to produce persuasive funding proposals and high-quality reports that build confidence and encourage continued investment.
