EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location - Newham
Start Date: 3rd September
Contract: Full-time (term time only)
Pay: £515 – £550 per week

About the Role
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a high-achieving Primary school in Newham. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to support children during the crucial early years of their education within a warm, inclusive and nurturing school environment.
Working alongside the class teacher and wider EYFS team, you will play a key role in delivering engaging learning experiences, supporting children's academic, social and emotional development, and helping to create a positive and stimulating classroom where every child can thrive.

Main Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative EYFS lessons and activities.
• Work with individuals and small groups to develop early literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Encourage children's independence, confidence and positive behaviour through consistent support and praise.
• Help to create a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning environment both indoors and outdoors.
• Observe children's progress and contribute to assessments and learning records where required.
• Support children with their personal, social and emotional development throughout the school day.
• Assist with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents, contributing to the school's inclusive and caring ethos.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

About You

• Previous experience working with children in an EYFS or primary school setting is desirable.
• A genuine passion for supporting young children during the early stages of their education.
• A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive school team.
• A proactive attitude with the flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the classroom.
• A good understanding of the EYFS Framework is advantageous.
