Contracts Manager – Refurbishment

Location: North / North East London
Projects: Internal & External Refurbishment – up to £5m

A well-established medium-sized main contractor based in North / North East London is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team.

The company specialises in internal and external refurbishment projects, delivering schemes valued up to approximately £5m across London and the surrounding areas.

The Contracts Manager will have overall responsibility for a number of projects at any one time, managing schemes from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple refurbishment projects valued up to £5m.
• Manage and support Site Managers and project teams.
• Programme, plan and monitor projects to ensure successful delivery.
• Manage subcontractors and the wider supply chain.
• Liaise directly with clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Work closely with the commercial team on project performance and cost control.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to a high standard.
• Oversee both internal refurbishment and external building works, including façade, roofing, window, masonry and associated remedial packages.
• Identify potential programme, contractual and commercial issues and deal with them proactively.

Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager for a main contractor.
• Strong background in refurbishment projects rather than purely new build.
• Experience delivering projects in the £1m–£5m range.
• Comfortable managing several projects simultaneously.
• Good technical understanding of both internal and external refurbishment works.
• Strong client-facing and subcontractor management skills.
• Commercially aware with a proactive, hands-on approach.
