We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join a busy insurance environment and provide expert day-to-day support to brokers and colleagues across the business.

This is a role for someone who understands the realities of insurance broking and enjoys solving problems, finding solutions and making things easier for the people around them.

You’ll be a key point of contact for broking queries, helping colleagues navigate processes, systems, insurer requirements and more complex cases. You’ll work closely with brokers, insurers and internal teams, using your technical knowledge to provide accurate, practical support and ensure queries are resolved efficiently.

What you’ll be doing

As part of the Broking Support Desk, you’ll provide knowledgeable and responsive support across a wide range of broking queries.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a key point of contact for brokers and colleagues requiring support with broking-related queries.
• Providing accurate guidance on insurance products, processes, systems and insurer requirements.
• Investigating and resolving queries efficiently, taking ownership through to resolution wherever possible.
• Supporting brokers with more complex or technical queries and knowing when specialist or senior input is required.
• Liaising with insurers and third-party providers to obtain information, resolve issues and find appropriate solutions.
• Supporting the placement of business and helping brokers navigate insurer requirements and available markets.
• Providing guidance around internal processes, procedures and best practice.
• Identifying recurring issues and opportunities to improve processes, knowledge and the overall broker experience.
• Working closely with internal teams to ensure queries are escalated and resolved effectively.
• Keeping accurate records of activity and ensuring relevant systems are kept up to date.
• Keeping up to date with relevant insurance products, market developments, compliance requirements and changes to insurer processes.
• Helping to ensure a consistent, high-quality service is delivered across the broking function.

What we’re looking for

This role would suit someone who has solid insurance broking knowledge and enjoys using that knowledge to help others.

You might currently be working as an Insurance Broker, Account Handler, Broking Technician, Broker Support Specialist or in another technical insurance role and be ready for something with greater responsibility and variety.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience within an insurance broking environment.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and/or personal lines insurance.
• A good understanding of broking processes, insurer requirements and market practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through complex queries logically.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• The confidence to deal with brokers, insurers and colleagues at different levels.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing accurate information.
• Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Good IT skills and confidence working with insurance systems and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Acturis or similar broking systems would be advantageous.
• Cert CII, or a willingness to work towards professional insurance qualifications, would be beneficial.
