Assistant Estimator roles & responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Measuring quantities and producing take-offs.
• Obtaining and analysing quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Preparing pricing schedules and cost comparisons.
• Supporting value engineering exercises and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintaining accurate estimating records and databases.
• Liaising with commercial, design and operational teams throughout the bid process.
• Supporting handovers to project delivery teams following successful tenders.

Assistant Estimator requirements

• HNC, HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Experience within the built or fit out environment
• 2+ years experience estimating
